Creating spaces for women to empower themselves through personal safety.

Now let's get in formation

Your safety is vital. No other way to put it. That's why we take your training seriously.

Realistic

During your training, we will debunk common “self-defense” myths together – why some advice you have been given may not ever apply. We will also replicate common environments such as low-light, confined spaces, and multiple opponents.

Effective

We understand the urgency of being safe TODAY. There is no time to waste in the face of danger. You will gain the tools you need immediately to protect yourself and loved ones starting from your first session.

Individualized

Every person is different – the way you learn, your body type, your body’s natural responses. Working to understand what makes the most sense for you helps to *reveal the fighter in you*. When we train together, we also study your biomechanics against other body types – especially larger, stronger body types – so that you can learn how to adapt to your advantage.

Specialized

Jab. Cross. Kick. Jab. Cross. Kick.

We break out of the combination drill mentality and focus on TACTICS, not techniques. You need a strategic, tactical approach to dominate the fight. This training will show you how to develop: powerful strikes, weapon improvisation/retention, proprioception, evasive footwork, strong verbal skills, acute awareness, proper range, and timing.

Hey Queens –

Shout out to you for stopping by. It takes a lot of courage to stand up for yourself. I started Bolo Code as an initiative to bring awareness to women’s personal safety – to show realistic and effective training measures as it relates to women. It’s my goal under Bolo Code to learn more and simultaneously educate our women, young girls, and community as a whole on keeping women safe.

Bolo Code seeks to provide safe spaces where you can inform your mindset and skillset. Our programs are designed to identify and reveal your power and strength. We also host various workshops and community efforts in Dallas/Forth Worth, TX throughout the year, so be sure to check back here or follow @bolocodestrong on social for updates.

No matter what age or level you are, you will be given the skills to attack against harm, misconduct, and violence; and to prepare for survival. Your mindset is the single most powerful tool in your arsenal. Your will to defend yourself begins with self-talk. You’re not a victim. You’re a survivor.

See you soon,
– AQ

FAQ

All trainees must begin with a Power Up introductory workshop – a 1-hour private session that introduces self-defense concepts, safety tactics, and basic striking mechanics. If you’d like to pursue more training, we offer 6-week, 9-week, and 12-week personal training programs. I don’t offer drop-in sessions at the moment due to time constraints with full programs. Full programs also allow you to retain your mechanics and help to minimize your “freeze” response in a threatening situation.

You can find all fees and tuition listed on the programs page.

Recommended training is 2-3 times per week, but weekly is definitely acceptable. Commitment to your safety is important!
